John Russell Halliburton was born October 17th 1899 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England, the son of John William Halliburton and Sarah Ann Russell. He was called Jack by the family.
In 1911, When Jack was still 11 he came to Canada with his family, they moved to Guelph, Ontario.
In 1917 the Halliburton family went into the ice business, Jack remained in the business the rest of his life.
Jack married Grace Mudge and they had six children.
